McQ by Alexander McQueen Fall 2010

See the brownish blonde girl with the teal streak and bitter sense of wisdom in her eyes? I picked this up after she threw it at some passerby.

stupid girl
your vision is gone

it left in his pocket

how will you get on

you don't have to blink

it's already black

your eyes they live

in the groove of his back

stupid child

you don't recognize me
you're ashes and cinders

no, not finally

you do what you want

go ahead sell your soul

was it worth it though

to share a cereal bowl
?
stupid girl

you let him slip in

those nightless hours
weren't really with him

i see you now
for what you really are

a cowering girl

who hid away too far.

except not really.

  2. This collection is so insanely early 90s... I am having flashbacks of outfits I wore in 5th grade, only taken to the next level. In all honesty, the only outfit I can really get into is the first one. The general criticism I've seen thrown at this collection is that it is not very creative and somewhat dull. Unlike your poem. What is your opinion? Also I sincerely hope it is true in your best dream you shared a drink with Bea Arthur!

  3. I don't think the collection as a whole is very inspired. Yes, it's derivative but I'm a fan of the styling and the character that it creates, even if it's been seen before.

I really did dream that. I woke up intoxicated with the memory of sitting at a hard wood bar next to bea.

    and thank you mel<3

  6. The styling rocks it. But the poem takes it to another level. L.O.V.E.

  7. I see a Rodarte FW 2010 resemblance in the dress in the last picture ... I like this though, the styling is nice if not incredibly unique. Having said that, I would probably wear all of these anyway. Except maybe the denim dress.

I feel like this poem was written about me. Or someone I know. It's eerily familiar in a way I can't describe. Marvelous work, sam, naturally ;)
